6 in a Row!
29 Mar 2015
2015 marked our sixth year in succession delivering the stewarding and safety arrangements for the Wakefield Hospice 10k.
Despite most of our staff suffering from an hour less in bed, the events team mobilised outside our staging post on Horbury Road at 8am for the event which started at 9am.
Covering the route from Wakefield Park down to Horbury Junction and back again, the team once again managed the temporary road closures ensuring the safety of runners and spectators alike whilst the race was in progress.
Contract Manager Chris Barnes took the event lead for the scond year running and was responsible for staff deployment across the route and then supervised the race from the comfort of one of our Patrol Vehicles, he commented
"another great performance by the team, who all give their time for free to aid this worthwhile cause, Well Done!".
The race attracted a record number of entrants including Ed Balls and Harry Gration.
The planning and detail that is invested in this event ensures that there have been no incidents during our tenure as stewarding and safety specialists and the experience we have working with the event organisers means that residents are largely unaffected by the race as the road closures are managed so effectively
Thanks again to all staff, management and friends of the company for turning out and supporting this event.
